Dean Cain Returns As Coach Davenport On VH1's "Hit The Floor"

Dean Cain is set to return as Coach Pete Davenport of the fictional NBA team, the Los Angeles Devils, on VH1's Hit the Floor. Last season, Cain's character got caught in a love triangle between the mother of his child, Sloan Hayes, played by Kimberly Elise, and Valery Ortiz's Raquel Saldana.  Cain tells ABC News Radio a new woman may be shaking things up this season.

"My wife comes in and messes things up because, you know, I'm getting a divorce from her so she comes in stirs the pot a little bit," he reveals.

What's also causing waves for Coach Davenport is that Sloan has taken a new job as the director of the Devil Girl Dance Team, where she'll be coaching not only her daughter, Ahsha, played by Taylour Paige, but she'll also be working along side Pete.

Cain says, "She takes a job in the arena...It's a lot of cat-and-mouse with those two. It's a little back-and-forth and I think most of that is probably Sloan's doing because Pete, you know, he's ready to go."

"They have a thing for each other," he continues. "They're definitely intertwined forever, and having a daughter they're always going to be in each others lives."

Still, one thing may derail their relationship. "They have...some bad stuff in their past that needs to be dredged up and they need to deal with that stuff," Cain says.

Meanwhile, Ahsha is now considering a relationship with one of the basketball players, point guard Derek Roman, played by McKinley Freeman, who is known for being a bad guy. Does Coach Davenport try to block Roman's shot with his daughter?

"You try to keep out of it as a parent, as a coach. You try to keep personal, personal and business, business, but that's never the case," Cain teases. "It never works that way."

And Roman may need to worry less about his love life and more about his life on the court as there's a new superstar player on the team: Zero, played by Adam Senn. Cain explains, "You know we're making some trades right before playoffs, [which is what] happens in professional basketball and we do pick up a very strong...small forward from the Ohio squad, who shakes things up a bit in the locker room and beyond."

Find out what other drama happens inside the Devils Arena when VH1's Hit the Floor returns May 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
