Dean Cain Is Pushing For A Lois & Clark Revival!
It's been 20 years since Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman wrapped... and we're still bitter we never got a fifth season.
Happily, Dean Cain – the Man of Steel in the '90s classic – is still campaigning for a revival, telling 7 News Sydney that he wasn't happy with the show's cliffhanger ending.
(Quick
recap – after learning they're unable to have children, Lois (Teri
Hatcher) and Clark found a baby mysteriously dumped in their living
room, wrapped in a blanket emblazoned with Superman's emblem.)
"We ended our show after four seasons in a weird way because we're supposed to do a fifth season," Cain explained.
"Teri got pregnant in
between and couldn't work on that fifth season, so they decided to shut
it down. I would have liked to have done that fifth season – I think we
still need a fifth season – so I'm hoping that we get a chance to maybe
finish up the series."
Cain added that he'd be happy to reprise his role for "10 episodes", "six episodes" or even just "a two-hour movie".
"I
think it would be really interesting to catch up with these two
characters 20 years down the line and see what's happened in their
lives," he added. "[To find out] if they have had children or what's
going on with their kids... I think it's really interesting and I'm
certainly willing to [do it]."
In
real life, Cain and Hatcher are still close pals, with Teri recently
posting an Instagram snap of them together in Australia, where the pair
were attending Supernova Comic Con and Gaming Expo.
Cain is also still a part of the small-screen Super-verse, appearing in Supergirl as the title character's adoptive father Jeremiah Danvers.
Hatcher also appeared in the show's most recent season as alien villainess Rhea and plans were originally afoot to have the pair reunite on-screen, though it never came off.
No more teasing... we want a full-blown Lois & Clark reunion. Netflix, get on it!
